About ‘Frances Walker – English Coach’
Hi! My name is Frances Walker, and I’m an accredited Neurolanguage Coach®*. Here’s a little about me and my background!
My Background
I’m originally from London, where, after university, I worked in the field of healthcare as an Occupational Therapist for many years, advising and training disabled people and their carers on how to regain as much physical independence as possible in their own homes . However, I felt I needed a change from the English weather, so I decided to move to the sun and sea of Barcelona, where I have lived since 2000.
Initially, I worked in the corporate and customer services worlds, and then for many years as an English teacher. After seeing the positive difference a language coaching approach made to my learners, I chose to train as an English language coach.
I now speak fluent Spanish, which gives me the advantage of being able to identify specific areas of the English language which some Spanish speakers typically find more challenging. As a result, I know how to tailor coaching sessions to overcome these challenges.
What I enjoy doing when I’m not working
Although I don’t have much free time, I very much enjoy all sorts of arts and crafts, including making jewellery, decorating wooden boxes with acrylic paint, and colouring. I’m also an avid reader of crime fiction, and, when I’m not doing these things, I love riding my bicycle and dancing salsa.
